“We don't heal in isolation, but in community.”

— S. Kelley Harrell

Community

Sessions

In our sessions, we draw inspiration from a wide range of therapeutic branches, including the Internal Family System (IFS): a transformative approach championed by Dr. Richard C. Schwartz.

Rather than viewing challenging patterns as obstacles to be eliminated, IFS invites us to welcome them as parts of ourselves with curiosity and compassion.

By honoring each part's journey and wisdom, we facilitate profound healing and integration.

Healing as Collective Liberation

We believe that healing is not just an individual journey but a collective act.

By fostering a diverse community where every unique story is honored, we actively contribute to the liberation our world urgently needs.

Join us in Boise, Idaho, as we collectively harness the power of somatic healing to pave the way for liberation and empowerment.

Jessica T:

“Every time I come to a session, I’m reminded of how much my body loves me.

I was kind of nervous at first to come and face things that seem overwhelming. I felt afraid and unsure of what would come out of me.

But I’ve realized how much my body craves and looks forward to the Soma Relief sessions every month.”

Jeff K:

“The pain in my neck, my shoulders, and my back respond so well to the sessions.

Being in a space to be safely touched has helped me realize how desperate I’ve been for connection in a safe, non-sexual way. We don’t get that much in American culture.

It really is relief.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Bring a water bottle and comfy clothes you feel relaxed in.

We do gentle movement like slow stretches, deep breathing, sitting cross-legged on the floor or provided pillows, bending from the hips, and occasionally laying down on provided yoga mats as part of our healing modalities together.

  • Overall, it’s a space to let your body let out whatever it wants to, free from judgement or pressure.

    1. Arrival & Intro: Upon arrival, find your spot in our cozy circle, either on floor cushions or a chair—whichever feels most comfortable to you.

We kick off by introducing ourselves and inviting everyone to share what they’re bringing to the session, if anything comes to mind.

Remember, sharing is completely optional and not required for the session to be beneficial for you. It’s our standard to create an atmosphere of openness, acceptance, and non-judgement so we can all be nurtured.

    2. Breathing, Movement & Meditation: Depending on the collective needs of the group, we ease into the session with gentle breathing, soft movements, and powerful guided imagery meditation.

These practices are designed to cultivate a sense of calm, release tension, and ground all of us in the present moment to safely explore within ourselves.

Throughout, there are natural pauses where we (Rebecca & Kira) check in with the group, inviting individual updates on thoughts & sensations.

    3. Tapping Exercises: As we journey deeper, we incorporate EFT Tapping — a powerful technique to release emotional blockages and restore balance.

Again, we maintain an open dialogue, encouraging participants to share your experiences & insights as they arise.

    4. Physical Touch: if you are wanting and open to physical touch, Kira will provide consented, nourishing touch to move what is coming up for you through your system, and to feel connected to the pain and sensations in a way that feels safe, useful, and freeing.

Our longer sessions on Saturdays have the most time and space for physical touch, if that is what you are looking to incorporate on your somatic journey.

    5. Closing & Reflection: To conclude, we typically engage in a final Tapping round, anchoring the session’s benefits.

Then we invite each participant to share something you’ve gained or learned from the experience. It could be a newfound sense of peace, a release of tension, or a deeper understanding of yourself.

This reflective sharing nurtures connection & collective growth.

  • Sharing is completely optional and not required for the session to be beneficial for you.

We all benefit from “Borrowed Benefits” - a phenomenon where you feel better and more integrated just by being in the room with others who are doing the session with you.

It’s our standard to create an atmosphere of openness, acceptance, and non-judgement so we can all be nurtured.

  • Peacefulness & revitalized connection to self and others are the top 2 sensations our participants experience after sessions.

If you’ve released lactic acid from the gentle movements or massage, some soreness and flu-like symptoms may arise. Drinking clean water will help.
